A teacher said “I am teaching for high school students, but it is very difficult to handle them, they do not listen to me”

Another teacher said “I am putting my effort in the teaching of Mathematics, but I do not know why some students are getting failed in examinations”

So and so, after interacting with teachers of the schools they express many day to day challenges that they are facing.

The teachers listed challenges that teachers usually face are as follows:

  • Aggressive behaviour
  • Bullying at school
  • Disinterest in topic(s) of study
  • Confusion or misunderstanding of topics
  • Underachievement in studies
  • Time management issues
  • Learning disabilities: Reading, writing, arithmetic
  • Lack of responsibilities
  • Family problems: Inability to pay for schooling, parenting issue
  • Other social issues

Students may have issues, at the same time teachers also have their issues, that is why research suggests that when teachers cannot manage the social and emotional pressure of teaching, the classroom climate deteriorates, and their students demonstrate lower levels of performance and on-task behaviour (Marzano, Marzano, & Pickering, 2003). Yes, many times this is true, when teacher is not bale handles their own stress and when they do not know how to handle the children when they come to different age groups, when teachers is failing in giving individual or close attention towards the students then these issues will be exist in all education settings.
